Does anyone here have an idea what this might be? I found it in a bunch of stuff that a WWII Vet's granddaughter had at her house. So far, all I found is a bunch of paperwork, and this.

Thanks,
Chief

After I looked at old newspapers, and misc. military base paperwork for over an hour, I told her that I look for old daggers, medals, uniforms and stuff. She said "I have a dagger". I was really interested and excited, then she showed me this thing. I have no idea what it is.

I looked very carefully, and cannot find any markings at all.
As you can see, the grip is pined to the blade, and does not come off. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Chief
