Here are two nice 2nd model luftwaffe daggers by SMF. Personally one of my favorite makers for the 2nd model luftwaffe dagger.

Note the difference in the finishing of the scabbards.

both are fine daggers. The colour under the Portepee is great by the dark grip. Wondefull

Nice daggers, Danny.

SMF made a lot of Luft2sa and they tended to hold their gilting up very well.

These are FINE examples for sure!! Love to add a SMF 2nd to my collection..never had one. I agree their distinctive fittings are some of the nicest out there. Kevin.

What a great pair of SMF's, that darker grip luft is a fantastic example of the change of hue to the grip over the years. Is the whole section under the knot that lighter colour?. Never seen a dagger displaying that extreme of difference to one side of the grip and confirmation that that knot has been sat there for decades.
Great unique luft.

Yes, the whole section under the knot has the lighter colour. I think it looks very cool.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

I really like those Danny. I agree SMF made a very fine luft. Hard to get really good 2nd models and I`m still waiting for that something special. Now that`s another one of yours I want! Top drawer!
