Hey guys
I know this is pretty damaged dagger, but i couldn't resist, when i saw crossguard and reasonable price.

What's your suggestion, should i start looking for better blade and grip?

Ivan:

I like it the way it is.

Don't start swapping out parts.

I agree with John...and that's a very cool personalization.

I agree. You did well on this. The personalization trumps condition in this case.

Congratulations,
Dave

I agree, but I would try to clean up the blade a bit.

Hi,
that's history as it comes, very nice personalization. I would leave it as it is, just necessary preservation, which means oil to the blade.

Very cool personalization, I've never seen one in that style before. Considering the piece as a whole, I'd leave it as is too.

Nice find, I'd also leave it as is. I have an NPEA dagger the vet pulled out of a fire, and made a leather washer grip. I could replace it with a proper wooden grip, but I think it's nice as is. These artifacts talk to you. Beside, if you "improve" it, it won't match condition wise, and you won't be happy with it.

Best, John

Hello Palante125, well it is true that a dagger without swastika has a very low value for the collector but also would have to know at what price the acquired Stingray and seeing your custom fitting so well crafted, if you really got the dagger at a good price to me an acquisition seems very interesting, as I say as long as the price it has acquired a more than attractive.
