I would sugest that the collar patch shows two ackorns one either side of the stem. I had a similar patch on an early uniform, the pieces is shown in Cloth insignia of the SS by Angolia page 42.Thoughts?

Reichsleiter Fiehler wears the symbol of authority of the Lord Mayor of Munich, it appears this day, he was acting in both his 'official' capacities.

It may be that we are looking at a picture of the day Fiehler was made Lord mayor, though it looks as if he was already acting in the capacity of Standartenfuhrer (his official promotion date is July 31st 1933) with his ascension to Lord mayor May 20th 1933.

Fiehler was only this rank till Dec.24th 1933, when he was raised to Oberfuhrer, a nice Christmas present indeed!
