Hello all, been some time since I've been around, not much in the way of medals latley in fact I've been focusing on the US side of my collection, but this came my way over the weekend at a local gun show, unfortunatly the guy broke the ring off and poorly resoldered it, and in the wrong direction, but its a real one and marked .990 siler on the rim, this is a pretty tough medal bummer about the ring though.

F. , how big is that? Quarter size? silver dollar size?

Thanks guys! It's a somewhat uncommon medal for sure, I've only seen pictures of them before. It measures 2 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide and is 1/8th inch thick.

Alfred Krupp was "interesting" to say the least. If you have not read it, "The Arms of Krupp" is a great book. A bit tedious in parts but the early history of the the firm is great.
