Nice dagger Rich!! Looks like some one went to town and really cleaned those guards and grip. Overall very nice!

Rich, My first SA bought "back in the day" is an Aesculap too! The fit and finish is great on these and hard to beat. Mine was all nicotine stained and I cleaned it up...rooky mistake!! It is still nice though..as is yours! I agree with Siegfried, someone cleaned the varnish off the grip. Tempting to so many because it is hard to find them with the varnish in good shape. Congrats! Kevin.

Thank you Larry and Kevin, I agree with the both of you. I like to leave these things be, I don't clean anything unless it's "modern dirt", the patina I don't touch. I know it will eventually come back however I'll be long gone. I've had this about 12 years and it looks like the day I bought it. If my memory serves me correctly I believe I paid $350.00 for it, and when I saw the shine I thought wow, great shape, my rooky mistake. Here are a few pictures of some other SA's I have in different stages of patination and nicotine. Wusthof ground Rohm, Kober and the Aesculap. Thanks again Rich
