Paul,
You ask, "What does Mint look like"?
I believe this piece to be the perfect definition!!! You could probably look the rest of your life and not find one better.
Wow, fantastic find!!! Congratulations.
Rich

Now that is one sweet German Cross, Paul.
Some people would call that Mega-Mint, or Mint, Mint, Mint or some such term.
Nice find,
John

Virgin my friend, even the air inside the cello is pre-1945 straight from the Vet's family on the west coast. The guy was a a high ranking officer. The Vet's sister, thinking she was doing good took this one, (another, not the 1st) out to show me what they looked like in some pics.

I have often wondered what a dealers collection would look like. I've always thought in my mind that it would consist of, "the best of the best". I think this piece proves my theory. We will all die very old men trying to find a better example than this. I don't believe one exists. Amazing...

Thanks Guys, I'm pretty pumped. See how the swas's "memory" is indented right into the silk on the top of the case and how the cello left impressions on the flocking? Very cool.

Pitt,
The best collection I have ever seen is Tom Wittmann's. Look on his website and you can see it!

Dave, I've browsed through those pictures a few times, and I might add, till I got to the last page, my keyboard was full of drool. Rich

Pauly, Things like this are once, maybe twice, in-a-lifetime finds for most of us! You've really gone and done it this time - how in heck are you ever going to 'out-do' yourself now, wiseguy ..?! Absolutely beautiful, old dog! Thanks for letting us see that gem. Best! Bill

For those of us who ran into US Vets who were involved with raiding the stockpile at Schloss Klessheim (Burmeister, Hritz, myself and a few others) sights like this remind us of the good ole days. I still have my RKKVK w/ Swords, DKiG and DKiS, AO 2nd cased, 3rd cased and 4th Cl loose and some EKI and EK I 1914 Bars Boxed in the collection.
