I love these honor goblets. The best in beer drinking aparatus. It would be like you are sitting down to a drink with the pilot. Especially after the third or fourth beer.

I don't think that I would put any kind of liquid into this goblet at all.

John, I collect silver goblets, steins, etc. All antique. Beer and wine are the safest and most enjoyable way to clean old cups you can find. Safe for the cup that is. I sometimes have wondered about the wisdom of drinking out of a cup that probably still has residuals from 100 years ago.

Still, there is always the excitement of drinking from the cup of a hero.

Plus, this is not a dagger. I think it can be gently cleaned.

But, that is just me. Enjoy this cup because this is so rare and beautiful.

I'm not too sure,Sorry.

I have seen them researched before but I would think its a hit or miss type of thing.

Maybe looking through some old MAX or SOS programs classified's would help to find someone who does research or maybe Ross K.,Rob M.,or some other forum members could point you in the right direction.

I found a link that you might use to pose the question on and hope you get a response.

Best of luck with it and if you are sucessful please keep us informed on the results.

John,
Really like the look on this one. I'm no expert but I don't believe I've seen too many awarded to a Feldwebel before.

-congrats !-

Nice score but the recipient cannot be researched, the name does not exist in the Ehrenpokal der Luftwaffe listing.
