I've had a few of these over the years but this is the best one by far, I don't often use the word "mint" but this is as close as I have seen, there is still a lot of the original lacquer on the fittings, the casting on the fittings is also very sharp showing no wear at all.

Jim
The length of the dagger is 9" with a blade length of 5.5". I forgot to mention the leather scabbard which is also in superb condition.

Gary, That is an awesome piece, the attention to detail in the fittings and etch are superb for a mini.
I like it.

For those who have not seen this particular miniture dagger before, like all the other miniture daggers it is based on a larger version.

Gary thats two great minis you have there.Thank you for shareing them with us paul @ Vigs 48, the second one shown is the "big" (original size) counterpart of the mini (letter opener) shown in the first posts. @ Gary, each time you show your very rare original size DJ hunting dagger I know what I especially do miss in my collection! Very nice and also rare miniature, thank you for showing both. Regards,

Guys
I'm glad you liked the mini, they are a quality item, as Wotan mentions they are listed in the advertisments of the time as a "letter opener".
The larger piece is one of my favourites.
Cheers
