My friends response was that he got them from a vet of the 42nd Rainbow Division who brought them back from Dachau,,,I told him of my & other's opinion of them, but he is incredulous-of course-that these vet obtained items are no good,,,can anyone guesstimate when these were made-by the stitching-fake stamps, etc,,,that might help him come to grips with reality,,

I agree with Gaspare , pure fantasy items = never existed. for items no one seems to want to collect , these are the most faked. many of these items are made just down the street from the camp in Poland. Tourist junk ,for those who visit the camp..... "locally save after the camp was liberated " There is a book or 2 showing original & fake items , plus some holocaust museums DO have on line photos of their items in the collection. jeff

simply,,those armbands are ridiculous...
Any interested in Holocaust items I suggest a trip to the D.C. museum and the book - 'Counterfeiting the Holocaust'
Sepp,, I see a few good pieces but most of that stuff is bogus.

I looked at the Jewish Memory site. All of that crap is being made in Poland as I speak. What a crud. I wouldn't think that someone would try to make money off of one of the most terrible things to happen in the 20th century. Simply disgusting. Steve Ray

The only original holocost items I have seen are the Lodz Ghetto coins. Even these have many reproductions. There are other legitimate items in some muzeums, but everything I have seen called Ghetto have been reproductions. The simple fact is that al most all original clothing and wood items were burned unpon liberation of the camps to help fight disease. I remember when the movie Schindler's list came out. I was living in Europe at the time and almost immediately the auction houses had "original" cloth items for sale.

yes,, Ghetto stuff way rarer than Concentration camp items.!
Pieces like the OST patch, printed Jude star and I.D.s can sometimes be authentic.
