How is it that the blade is in such poor condition yet the leather is perfect. Normally the reverse is true.
Is this a "work in process"?

For a correct answer needed a better quality image and if possible should measurement size guard and pommel.

The piece looks OK at first glance but Jim raises a very valid point. Perhaps the leather was redone?

We need to see the "tang" of the blade with the markings on it.

The size of pommel and guard will be helpfull identificate fake or original. pictures will be close, qualite and including part of dagger, not only the general form.
