Hey Guys,I am not a helmet guy but I happened upon a M-35 style helmet marked SE66 and 3341.No liner but liner rivets present, rear rivet damaged(one tab broken)Decal is RLB.Decal is off center slightly. There are slight chips and faint sanding marks visible with a loupe.Within the chips are traces of a light grey primer. There are also stress marks indicating sub standard quality for a combat helmet.can anyone confirm that sub-standard M-35's were scrubbed and primed with a light colored primer then repainted with the dark blue,or have I bought a "Project "piece?
Thanks,Geoff.

Does it have a "beaded" ridge below the done and above the flange?

Is it true all black and silver R.L.B. decals are "Fake"?

A picture would be good before passing judgement.

I have seen and owned several out of the ordinary civil helmets which includes combat helmets with civil decals on them. However, this is not one of them; the decal is definitely post war. For that reason it is always worth posting the pic !
Best Wishes,
Bob

Thank you for the replies gentlemen. This helmet was one of dozens offered for sale along with some amazing replicas made of fiberglass! Genuine helmet shells were used as molds and the models were painted to depict variations that the now deceased
maker wanted to have in his collection. He was in the paint and body business and his work was pretty well crafted. Many obvious fantasy decals were used.Sprinkled in with the replicas were some original shells and helmets.I acquired the ones I wanted including this shell. At $40.00 for an original M-35 shell I feel pretty good!Happy Hunting,G.
