This came my way today from an old collection. It's a matching '37 Horster that came with an unusual canvas frog. There isn't a retaining strap attached through the body and it appears as if there never was one. All stitching is intact and shows no sign of being disturbed. I've seen pics of these before but never observed one first hand before. Any BCN'ers have one(s) in their collections?

Len: Went thru my own bag of tropicals, and although I have numerous variants, all have a cross-strap. I did have one w/out strap at one time, but stitching was broken on both sides where the cross-strap would have been , so concluded it had been removed. Since the leather patterns come with and without straps, don't know why the trops would be any different. However, the lack of examples like yours seems to suggest strapless web frogs are indeed scarce.
