Dear fellow collectors. As written in the "EICKHORN" thread by JohnZ I got more than "compensated" for a still (due to our bad bad mail system) not delivered 1711 by EICKHORN because I found two extremely nice WKC forest daggers, Mod. 1051 and 1067 at this certain, small show. Both daggers are WKC maker-marked and are really beautifully conditioned. The Models have the true ivory and stag grip plates. The Mod. 1051 with true ivory grip plates has been the by far most expensive (27,- RM) dagger of the whole WKC line. Interestingly these daggers seem to be serial numbered on the scabbard fittings beneath the rivets. In earlier times I have thought that these would be inventory numbers but as both fittings do have always the same number and the number differes from piece to piece these really seem to be serial numbers. Due to them there seem to be not too many around.
Feel free to show us YOUR Mod 1051 or 1067 or both.
Regards,
wotan, gd.c-b#105

Wotan:
That is some 'compensation'.
Beautiful daggers. Can we see some closeup shots of the etches and the grips?

JohnZ, thank you for looking and your interest! Both have the same etching. Interestingly I do own another 1051 (which I do nat have at hand) which has another blade etching. As said, both are mmarked, naturally stamped. Here some additional photographs. I hope the nice structure of the ivory grip can be recognized, it is (for me) very hard to photograph. The blade/etching has NO stains, these are just the reflexions. Regards,

Just beautiful!
You can make out the striations in the ivory of the one grip.

Wotan,
Have you noticed that the clip on the upper dagger (with the green knot) is the same as on the SA/NSKK/SS hangers that can be either vertical or 45 degree ? I would bet it has D.R.G.M. on the back.

I am glad you appreciate my new forest daggers. I already had a worn 1051 group with studio pics of the former owner wearing this certain dagger and the extremely rare forest "Ost" ("east") cufftitle worn in the photograph. If I have enough time I will make photos and and show them here.
Paul, your 1051 is a pleasure for the eye, it´s even in better condition than mine.
Dave, I could observe this certain clip as several hangers, also eg. army sabre teardrop hangers. Although the clip of my hanger here is fixed by a sewn leather tab I took a lupe to examine and could see that the clip here has no D.R.G.M. marking.
Hope to see some more 1051 and 1067 here.
Regards,
wotan, gd.c-b#105

Houston, thank you for looking and comment. I know you have seen quite a lot so I can imagine the weight of your compliment to Paul´s dagger and mines. Regards,

Not sure how I missed this one,
Here's a nice WKC short deluxe forestry I picked up at the last Max show, a variation on the 1067.

Makes one want to spend more time out looking to find great pieces such as these. Just marvelous and, yes, i am a little jealous that i did not find these first. Very difficult to find in this quality, but this shows they are still out there to be found. BEAUTIFUL James

Here's another variation, this one with a Wolfshead clamshell instead of the boarshead.

Wow, I guess I never took the time to notice the beautiful etchings and craftsmanship that went into these forestry daggers. Absolutely stunning!!! As a hunter myself, I've always liked these forestry daggers but have never had the chance to see them up close like these phenomenal photos. I'll be keeping my eyes open for these gorgeous daggers.
Very nice photography...Well done!!!

I think these hirschfängers are the best of their kind for the short deluxe models, possibly the Alcoso types are up there with them. Wotan
None of the 3 versions I show are maker marked.
Cheers
