Hi, Are you aware of an army dagger that has a dark brownish red hilt? A friend of mine told me it had something to do with troop transports and trains. BTW, how do you deal with the german swastika-phobia? Best Manuel Luis

Manuel:
Hello and welcome to the forum.
It is believed that the colour variations on dagger grips arise form chemical aging of the material used. There seems to be no correlation between units and dagger grip colours (apologies to the guys who think that the black handled Luft2s are 'funeral daggers').
We tend not to get excited about showing swastikas, after all, they are part of the collectible, are they not? If you display these items on some forums or on sales sites, like e-bay, you may want to hide the swastika by covering it up with a post it note or something not very sticky.
