Enclosed are two WWI era pictures taken in 1918 showing American dough boys around a French tank with American markings. What is interesting both pictures show one of them wearing a camo helmet. Which gives rise to the debate whether the helmets were painted during the war or after the war. This is the first period picture I have seen with Americans wearing such a helmet. BTW the pictures were out of a photo album of a friend of mine whose father was a tanker during WWI.
