I think that is a cut-down sword, not a bayonet. I see no way of attaching it to a rifle.

The unit marks on the scabbard are for the 14 Ulans 5 Company Weapon #25. What you had was a issued K98 Cav dress sword. Too bad someone made a knife/bayonet out of it. I have seen this many times on dress swords. And suspect the returning GI probably did it.
