Hi Folks

Here is a partial SA that I have been offered. Any red flags?

The wood of the handle looks a bit odd to me - is the grain too open?

What about the blade and the makers mark?

All help would be most welcome.

Regards

Scabbard looks to have had a repaint and handle looks like quarter sawn oak which is often seen on early daggers but discontinued due to cost of production and waste of material.Leave comment on dedication to Pat or Galien David.Trademark is correct and correctly placed for an Eick Rohm

I don't know about the inscription but it looks like the blade has been re-tipped.

It looks fine to me, the grip is typical Eickhorn, crossguards also look Ok, these would normally be marked AR internally for this logo variant, maybe HE marked. It's not unusual to find Rohms that had the tip snapped off and were subsequently re-tipped as pointed out by raymond. The inscription looks good IMO...

Many thanks all for the comments. Yes the blade has been retipped.

Here is a pic of the cross guards both showing the HE mark.

So this is the real McCoy then.

Any further comments about the etching welcome.

Thanks
