This knot came in the shop with some other ss stuff. I would like it to be ss, but I can't figure out what it would be for. Any thoughts? Thanks! Jerry

These knots were found in large quantity in storage in Germany after the war. There is also one with a black acorn top and a blue and silver one. The black and silver ones ( both types) are identified by many dealers as SS and the blue and silver ones as Red Cross--THEY CAN EVEN BE SEEN IN REFERENCE BOOKS ATTACHED TO EDGED WEAPONS--BUT--there is 0 documentation of any kind for these claims. They are unidentified.

Thanks Houston, I have seen them at shows, and tied in bundles so what you say makes sense, but this is the first one I had come in as an "out of the woodwork vet bringback". So un-id'ed as it is, I am still going to hang it on my SS cadet sword
