Hi rhood!

Well, youve got yer 25 Year Faithful Service award on top there, then an iron cross 1st class left and second class right, and, lowered inbetween those, a mother scross (not sure if gold or bronze? need better shots!!). Then, left below that, a DRL german sports badge, and on the right (maybe???) a westwall builders medal? Orr ?? Anyone? Lowered inbetween a war merrit cross bronze, no swords obviously. Then, bottom left, some destoyer (I think) badge, and a minesweepers badge.
Cant tell from that shot, if they're real or not, but, have fun learning about them!!! This surely is a good info site too, for the combat medals anyway.

Bye,
KR

KR has nailed it..

Sure they have value! I'd say the EK1, Destroyers,Minesweepers are going to be worth the most..

Actually the destroyer badge is in fact a high seas fleet badge.

Ha ha YES thanks Rod! Well, had to leave you guys something *LOL* Lost focus on the combatthings, not my thing .. Value, you can check dealers value, and take about half of it to know what you make if you sell to dealers. If you sell yourself, well, depends, probably not dealermoney, but, who knows, you can get lucky?

blush yes, High Seas!

anyway,,yes dealers do get much higher prices then 'regular' collectors. Check around and also keep in mind the maker as some collectors collect different , or more rare maker marks..

Yeah truly good call Gaspare! Yes the maker, is important! In fact, any detail ~~could~~ be important, or the metal its made of? Anyhow, it often ain eazy, to find out WHAT you have, and that makes it great!!

rhood, would it be possible to show a closeup of the back of the high seas fleet badge so we can see if it is maker marked?

I agree, the high seas fleet badge needed better close pictures. I think this one is tombak made, but there are very good repros on market and they are very difficult to identify from this picture.

Here is a good text about the Schwerin made High Seas Fleet Badge.

Nice shots!! That See Abzeichen is great, and clearly marked .. Bock, important Abzeichen-designer/maker. Born in Berlin, was actuly a painter, and his work was used in the book "Unsere Marine im Weltkrieg", very beautiful book. He lived in Finland then, but, when the WW2 broke out, he returned to Germany, to work there, as official Kriegsmarine artist. If you like old newspaprs and magazines, like the Vlkischen Beobachter, you can see his work used there too. Schwerin/Berlin made the badge, Adolf Bock designed it. "FEC." is short for "feit", thats latin, for "designed" or "made by".

Bye,
KR

The fleet badge looks good to me and so does the minesweeper badge but have no idea who the maker is on it.
