WWI Trench Knife
I am sure this is a WW I US issue Trench Knife. Can you tell who the maker was? I believe the condition is quite good what do you think? Any idea on a possible value? Any and all comments are appreciated! JME

LANDERS, FERRY and CLARK Very nice shape. These have become more popular as the brass knuckle ones are harder to find these days. As for Value, you see them all over the board from $250-650 depending who is selling where.

Yup a very nice one. I have the 8 perimid type also they manufactured for a bit in 1917. The Brass ones really saw no action in WWI due to the delay in manufacture, Well except the Aulion french made ones, but in WWII they reappear with the Airborne and other elite units until better knifes were used. I've personaly never heard of accounts of one (M1917)used in a Trench raid or such and really could not be alternatively for opening your hard-tack so a 1 purpose design for fighting only with that crucifix (triangle) type blade. Note: Always remove these by holding onto the throat of the scabbard and not the bottom. I have seen too many of these at shows where someone ripped off the leather held on by only 3 weak rivits. GREAT KNIFE smile

Your dagger look fine and the value in my eyes will be around 600 us in this condition.
