recently picked up this nice sword.
It has Kanji on only one side. I did notice that the end piece looks odd?
Can anyone translate?

NOT an expert AT ALL. end looks like it May have been a longer sword ,& it was cut down ;including the handle section.
for more info. go to military items.com just tell him you had questions on this sword (...not for sale , ect.)
he should be able to translate the writing too. he's fairly good at it. you might have lighten up the markings ,buy using "baby powder / flower ". these photos might be good enough for him. just be honest with him & he'll help you out. jeff
