Well the SOS show is about here. Hope to see some bayonet collectors there. If you have any unusual TM's and tired of dusting them bring them along. I may be parting with a few of my extra dress bayonets. Need a certain TM let me know, I may have it.

No, John does not, but I cannot collect everything .. and the export stuff, unless it were for Norway, I leave to others.

And, guys, I do NOT have everything Eick.... missing lots of TM variations in HJ, SA, missing RLBs, missing lots of Hunting and Forestry variations, not to mention KS98 variations, and the naval marked K98 combats... the list goes on and hunt continues.

Denny,
I do have an Eick here that John is still pining somewhat for. I think he has 99.96% of them but I have one of the ones he's looking for.

I hope you guys have a good show at the SOS. If I were able to be there this year, I would love to meet some of you guys. But there's always next year. See you then,

Regards,
Steve

Pine, pine, pine... maybe one day you will take pity on me and I will be able to pry that worthless piece of iron out of your cold, cold hands wink

It would be great to see you at one of the shows.

Terry.

Three of the one's that you're going to bring SOS I would love to own myself ( sweet ).

Denny and John, You give me that warm fuzzy feeling inside. smile We'll see if we can make a day of this at the next SOS show. It would be great to talk bayo's and guns. I'm sure there's a place there for a beer or two.

Denny, I can tell you've collected a long time. Some of the little Walthers I've seen you post elsewhere are to die for. I just picked a new one up today that I'll post in a few days. It's a 1938 PP. But it will be on the other forum.

Regards, Steve.

There are a couple there that caught my eye...don't listen to these guys, save them for me (the Klaas/Krebs and the Eick pommel etch).

Steven/Stingray, are you coming to the show? If so, maybe we could meet up at the Terry/Denny table at some point and harass, I mean shoot the breeze with, them.

Terry,

Tell me you didn't sell off your BSW marked fire pieces cry

John,

You're referring to the Kober/Scharf bayo? An elusive maker mark in it's own right but even rarer is the BSW marking on the top pommel & frog. I have a minty example with marked frog & knot but Terry has (had?) 2 including the only short model I've seen. I'm hoping he didn't sell them off. As an aside, these early produced pieces all show Eick hilts & are some of the best constructed KS98s I've ever had the pleasure to own. I've owned 4 or 5 of them but always sell them to give others the small measure of joy a nice one brings to a dress bayonet collection. BTW, I think Steve has one of mine, also BSW marked.

Terry,
See you Wednesday evening for dinner? Don't forget Wednesday's "Show & Tell" in Bill G.'s room at the RRI. Also Bill & I have to take some rifles to the other RRI for some picture taking for Bruce Karem's new K98-k rifle book, if ya wanna tag along!

I'm keeping the short BSW bayonet but may sell the long if the price is right.

Denny

See you there on Wed. We're leaving around noon. I talked my brother in coming again. I may have a surprise to show you.

A PP? You sly devil, holding out like that. I'm also looking forward to seeing it. Still green with envy over that Luger you snagged.

Billy, Your BSW is safe in the stable. When I'm able to get matching frogs like you and Terry have, I'll keep this one until I find another one and pass this one on to the next collector to enjoy.

Denny and Billy, a sneak peak on the little Walther I Picked up Saturday. RSHA SS 1938 PP.

Terry,

Looks like a heck of a show I missed. I hope it was a good one for you and Denny. I hope John didn't buy all the good stuff. smile I may want to make a trade later. The sad thing is that I'm back stuck on the guns again. I go in phases. I've got an old Camaro in the garage that wants attention every so many years too. Too many hobbies and not enough $.

Maybe next year at the SOS we can get our stateside boys, as well as our guys from the north and our guys from across the pond as well. I would love to talk to you all on many things. We've got a year from now to make a date.

Steve.

We brought Minnie, our vicious guard dog to discourage SOS table looters! She kept everything under control....
Steve, good idea! Let's all plan on an SOS get-together for next year. BTW, like you I keep swinging back & forth between guns & blades.

Steve:

I was bitten twice by that vicious attack dog... but, I did pick up two very nice pointy things (and was kicking myself for leaving some others behind).

Once they have arrived chez JohnZ, I will be posting pics here.

It was a great show for me.

Sorry about that John. She has had all of her shots however, so no fears of her catching something! wink

You certainly did have a great show and I'm sure those who were not there will enjoy seeing your pics.

You may want to forward this pic. to Bernie Brule. I believe he's into cowboy action shooting.
