SS & SA Tinnie Opinion?
Please have a look at this SS & SA Tinnie. Do you think it is real? Thank you in advance for your input. JME

Hi JME,

I think, its a very nice original Abzeichen! In fact, I asked the same a while ago here. Not many response, so, could be quite rare? The pin on the back of mine got many thumbs down somewhere, but yours looks very much the same? Between you and me, I think its a good one! The very same pin is for sale at a very (I think) trustworthy dealer site! AND to boot it can be seen in Tiëstes catalogues! I put pics of that in that topic I linked to above. Have a looksee, and, what do you think??

Cheers,
KR

My reservations remain. Compare it to this tinnie.

Yes, but I aint seen most tinnies in period pics anywhere. So, saying it aint good because it never shows it face anywhere, has no foundation too? Nobody gives a definitif good or false. When did this pin turn up anywhere? Please PLEASE tell me. Anybody know? I think, Tiëste can be trusted, to do at least a bit of homework, more then most funplayers at home do or can. And he surely aint always right. Who is? I agree, period books/mags, are super, for refs, learning, and I recently got a gorgeous book that actualy shows some Abzeichen that are very popular these days and much faked, so what better comparison to check then that book is there? But, again, my opinion, that this one is good remains as well. And, also, again, what do I know? Not much! So dont take my word, I just gave my opinion. Convince me its fake. Maybe I WANT this to be good, JUST to prove some others very wrong. BUT, Im not buying the blind shooters anymore anywhere

Doubt is a good thing. Trust in your instincts. I sure don't put myself forward as a knowledgable person.

IMO, the pin safety loop on these is not indicative of the period as far as I have observed.

Check this link.

Hey now thats new to me! OK, so, this Reddick, is only doing repros? And, the text tells "reproductions of original pieces"? So, it can still be original? Either one of ours here? Im gonna take that shot apart next to/with mine next to it, will let you know! Anybody has this Reddickpin? Is this our needlepin at the back? Intresting! Thanks Joe! Is Reddick here btw? He obviously sells repros so maybe he can help out saying "yeah those are mine" or "nah not my work"?

Cheers,
KR

Hi guys,, I have a 1993 Tiëste tinnie book and searched around SS, SA, Berlin, couldn't find it..

Reddicks is only fakes and fantasies..

I'm not a tinie man, but just by the look of the finish / patina alone I don't like it.. They are always in the same condition and have the same weird patina.

I have the 1978 4 vol. Manions tinnie listing but too lazy right now to look as there is no rhyme or reason to their listing them.. I'll check during the week.

I dont know that book Gaspare, but, thanks much for looking, if you have a moment somewhere. Im wondering when this pin apeard, coz, mine surely was stuck away for at least some years, still I cant tell where it came from or how.

The more I see them the worse they look to me. at least the pattern on CG has a date to the bottom. Where's the year on this thing?,,they all have the same patina, all same condition,,no thanks..

Well, if it were I and know now that Reddick is reproing them or "creating" them, I wouldn't touch it but then too, that's just me.
I think that Reddick is of value on certain things though so I am NOT dissing him at all!

Paul your right! some of these guys will publish some weird things as authentic.

The patina and the fact that every one you see is in the same condition. Also,,don't you guys thing its weird that there is no year date on this piece?
