Hi All, I have been collecting/admiring German edged weapons for over 40 years. The term "slant grip" is new to me and I don't know what it means. Could someone or everyong help to educate this old dog with some new tricks. Perhaps a photo or two would also be helpful. I really haven't been very active in the collecting field for some time now, BUT I am ALWAYS interested in learning, even if I can't afford to own most of the daggers I use to buy for $50 to $$1,000. Thanks for your time. I am looking forward to getting a good education from some VERY educated people here on this board. Peace, Mark Giannullo in New Jersey

Mark slant refers to the drastic angle of the grip segments these are only seen on initial early production Heer daggers compare the first example to this Non-Slant

Hi and THANKS for the quick reply. As I see it, there is really only a slight difference. It seems to me the the slant grip has a slight twist to the grooves as it rounds the handle. Is this correct? I rally can't see much of a difference. Maybe someone could show a photo of them side by side. That might make it easier for me to see. Thanks again. Peace, Mark

I too had wondered about the term, "slant grip" and I have collected off and on since 1964 when I got out of the Army. Back then there was very little if any information available. Thanks for the information!
