Having serious doubts about this, nevertheless it is well made.
Described in some of the earler reference books as an SS prototype dagger

There were a few prototypes and I think that member John Pepera may have one. With that being said, I don't think this is one of them.

The markings on the blade (not the tang) are generally considered to be those of a reproduction or "fantasy" blade.

I either looked at this dagger or it's twin at the Pomona,CA show last weekend. IMO: Pure fantasy piece.

I am not an SS expert, but someone went to alot of time and painstakingly trouble, to make this look real.

Wittmann has a section in his SS book on these daggers. To make a long story short.Paul Muller has said that he made a few daggers like this. The problem is were they made before or after the war ? Whenever they were made they were still made by a master craftsman and there for have historical and monetary value

This is the same style of replica that was on sale for 1500 euros a few weeks ago.

Thanks for all the input guys.
Like I said...I didn't have much hopes for this.
Nevertheless it is very well made. I've seen copies that weren't even worth to be called copies, they were so far off the real thing. At least this one has a lot of craftmanship in it.
