Roy, NICE Wusthof!! Did yours have an early correct scabbard? I have seen a few Wusthof's out there that have a later scabbard... mad Kevin.

Dave yes IMO the aluminum hilts are very hard to come by and the pack marked ones show the best hand work you will find on an army.

Outstanding dagger Tom and very much underrated in my opinion.
I would like to see an ivory gripped, damast army dagger with aluminum hilt fittings..........now that would be special smile.

Not that every dagger shown in this thread is not of course.

This has turned into one heck of a thread! Really a joy to watch, so thanks to all.

My intention is not to throw this thread off track, but seeing some of these daggers reminded me that some are much rarer then a rating of ten. I love the Roach clip and McSARR and never leave home without both lists and think the rating scale is great and understand the simplicity of the rating but for those daggers that are one and two only known makers, I think rating them a ten doesn't really seperate them from the rest of the ten's. Maybe a rating of unique one, meaning one known and unique two, meaning two known would help. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks smile

The one by Weyersberg pictured page 68 in TW book was probably with mine during the drunk night...
It seems that Weyersberg crossguard are unique in their eagle design. Can other member post photo of their Weyersberg crossguard?
