Well here it is,my first Luft helmet. Seems to be a good one strait out of the woodwork, what do you guys think? Give it to me strait if there are any problems or opinions,I can take it! just bought from a military guy that recieved it from a friend of his military dad who was stationed in Germany when he was a kid... marked "ET62" and "Weis" or "Wels" on the liner. Give me your input guys!! Kevin.

What are you guys opinions on the decals?? I am mostly savvy on the daggers, bit of a newby to helmets!! I may have discovered something VERY cool! I was looking inside the liner and found these markings! One is just "84" but the other appears to be a unit marking! What do you Luft Guru's say about this unit?? What type and area? Cant make out the last word, have any ideas?? Kevin.

Anyone out there? Heres a update, did some searching and found out this was a Recon unit and: Formed 1.10.37 in Brieg from Stab/Aufkl.Gruppe 113. On 1.11.38 redesignated Stab/Aufkl.Gruppe 31. Reformed 1.39 in Gppingen. On 26.8.39 redesignated Koluft 5. Bases: 1.10.37 - 1.11.38 Brieg He 45/He 46 1.39 - 26.8.39 Gppingen Hs 126 The "Br" at the end of the stamp that is incomplete is Brieg!! Very cool to know that this was stamped between 1/10/37 and 1/11/38! Kevin.

Thanks guys..found some maker stamps on the chin strap that read in two lines, can make out(I think)Capital C and second word cap H? Second line, maybe Dre?don 1937(the part I can make out so far!)do you guys know this maker? I was looking at the tip were they usually are but they were at the other end a few inches from where the strap wraps around the bail on the liner ring! Never saw them there before....Kevin.
