I came across this Imperial Naval Dagger today. It has an Ivory grip, double fullered Damascus blade with the sailing ship etch. Obviously, the blade is a bit longer than normal.
The only proofmark I can find is the cursive "L". What can you Navy collectors tell me about it?

I must be drunk, I meant to put this in the Army, Navy, Luft Forum. If it can be moved, it would help.

Sorry, I am not in this kind of daggers (imperial, WWI) but it looks like a nice imperial navy. Is the blade damast or "only" etched? Is it a bone grip? The length of the blade/dagger seems to me not to be common.

Finally, I'm back. The Maidenhair Damascus blade is 13 1/2" long. The grip is definitely ivory. The crown is open. On the tang the #23 and ANB is stamped.
