i bought this solid silver ek2 yesterday
with a loop you can see its cast but the dimensions are spot on so i dont think it was cast from a standard ek2 but from a mold. the ribbon ring is soldered on as per standard the large ring tests silver the ribbon is genuine .it weighs 29 grams
any thoughts?

I thought they were usually marked, at least for silver content, but maybe not.

nickn2,
If I understand correctly your cross is a solid one piece cross? Not a three piece with silver frame?
------------------------------------
29 grams of solid silver? Does silver weigh more than a cross with an iron core, anyone? The heaviest three piece I've seen recorded was 20.9 grams.
Can you measure height, width and thickness?
--------------------------------------------

Paul, there are references to solid silver examples of the EKI that were made for Germans by Japanese jewelers.
