The one characteristic about these repro blades, to include those of Rex Reddick from years back, is that they all have a slight bluish tinge to the metal. I just can't see them ever getting the mixture correct with the originals. However, a young collector or semi expert in a hurry to buy, will miss this easily. So become familiar with all the traits IMO.

very interesting post. Lots too look out for but the weight is the key.I have also found that if you hold the grip and let the tip of the blade gently strike a wooden surface it does not sound right, but that could just be me !!

So, was that an Ebay buy? There's no way I'd notice the difference from a couple Ebay pics. It wasn't a big seller on the internet was it?

I have no idea where the dagger originally came from. As noted at the start, I borrowed it to take pictures.

If anyone in the US has similar good fakes, I'd like to borrow to photo for another "Show & Tell" here,
