While a rare maker, there are definitely more than 1 around.

So this is a well known maker for SS Daggers then? Did they use a number 1 district stamp on the lower cross guard?

I guess i was wrong about there only being one by this maker, but I think if the blade and crossguards are original, this would be worth restoring if the price dosent go much higher.

It is a fairly scarce maker. Much depends on the condition of the blade. It appears to have a least one large dark area and may have been polished, looking at the trademark. But, as always, photos don't tell the whole story and may be deceptive. Finding a grip could be problematic. They are not cheap, if you can find one, and a proper fit is not always ensured. Then, there's the scabbard. You might get by with a paint job, but that would have to determined with a hands-on examination. You may be right about a restoration being worthwhile, if the cost can be held down.

It looks like the pencil trick would remove most of the marks on the blade along with a little polish and elbow grease. the Sa Parts could resale at a good price to help cover the cost for a handle and scabbard.

I have a couple of them. They are rare but not the rarest of the maker marked daggers in my opinion. The blade has seen better days but the trademark and it's positioning look OK from a poor photo.

Smaller makers often do not have those roman numerals, but there is no consistency. It would not bother me.

Ebay police have removed it now, so someone will be making a back door deal i'am sure.

If the Ebay "police" had it removed it was probably a real one. They don't bother with or care about the junk that sells there.
