hello; unfortuantly it's very diffucult to tell. repros being made on original machinery, ect. out of texas for $20.00. some of the original machines taken by the french ,post war , which went to south viet nam & used there to make most of the insignia worn there , till that wars end. god knows where those machines went next. but,many still reside in germany today. same gose with some of the tinnie badges, the companies & molds are still in germany & still betng used. medals still being made by rudolf saval in austria using original molds he bought from every one after the war. sorry I could not help directly. jeff h.

Is Saval still in business? In 2004, I was in Vienna, and happened upon his business address, but it was closed. I have a picture of the vacant store I took laying around somewhere.

The insignia looks good to me, from the pics. It is definitely not one of the repros sold by Reddick Militaria in Texas. And it's Rudolf Souval, nor Saval.
