Anyone using Firefox can personalize this browser several ways. One way is with the use of personas. This displays a picture on the top menu part of the screen as in the attached photos. You can download existing personas or you can create your own. To do this, you have to install the persona add on. If you want to create and use your own, you also have to download the tool that allows you to display your own. It's on the same page as the personas add on. The instructions on how to create them is on the page where you download the tool. Because of the different screen sizes and resolutions, you will have to play around with it until you get it right. The number of tool bars that you have displayed will also affect how much you see of the persona. After the tool is installed, you will see a tiny fox on the lower left hand side of your screen. Click on this and click on "Preferences" then check the box that says "Show persona in menu" then OK. Once this is done, click on the tiny fox again and click on "Custom persona" then "Edit". This will bring up a screen that allows you to apply your own personas by choosing the folder that contains the header and footer personas. You really don't need a footer but can if you want. Once you've chosen one, click on OK. You can change your persona anytime you want. For those of you who are "computer challenged" I have created a few of Iron Crosses and a few badges located in a zip file called personas.zip that you can download from here. Clicking on this link will automatically download the file for you: http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/2255346/personas-zip-september-21-2010-3-48-pm-98k?da=y If you would like me to create one for you, send me the picture and I will create a few renderings for you.

Despite many precautions, I had to have a virus removed and other work done on my laptop. The friendly repairman fixed me up with Firefox and, so far, so good. He noted that most viruses enter through Internet Explorer and it should not be used because of that. Thought I would pass it on to those who might be interested.

Same should be said of the popular virus protection programs. I have avast now and have never been more protected. People write viruses to get by McAfee, Norton, etc.. Avast is a good one that hasn't the back doors for viruses that the others have.

The technician also recommends Vipre for ant-virus protection. He installed Malwarebytes anti-malware protection (free).
