Hi everyone, a friend gave to me this one and I'd like to hear what you think about it(the bayonet). The scabbard is marked s/240 and dated 1937 and the bayonet is dated -87. Thank you very much. Regards, Walter

hello, walter. looks like a mix of a ww2 scabbard( f. herder a.sohns made) & and an old era bayonet. assumed the bayonet was cut down for k-98k use, to use on that gun & for the scabbard. I doubt this was done at the time (1937).
most rework bayonets were much earlier. still ,over all a good item to hold on to , good over all shape.
if you paid little for it, even better. jeff h.

Hi Walter

You have a 84/98 1st type bayonet in a 84/98 3rd type scabbard. The bayonet was made in 1887 and the scabbard in 1937.

Gentlemen, Thank you for your replies. Does anyone have opinions about the frog? Thank you very much. Regards, Walter
P.S. Klinge, how is the weather in Paris? Central Florida is still humid and low 90's F.
