Vet Find This collection came from a Vets son he said the CZ27 rig and cap came from a German from the Battle of the Bulge. The cap once had a Luffwaffe insignia on it. The son said his dad wore the cap underneath his helmet to keep warm. Also inclosed is the capture paper for the CZ rig and a Hitler Youth armband. Attached Thumbnails

As demanded in closed are pictures of the CZ27 with GI grips made from plexi glass. I believe this is an early model finish and bore are good.

Neat looking weapon. Why did GI's use plexiglass for grips??? I have a Steyr 1915 pistol vet aquired with plexiglass grips (he had a picture of his girlfriend under the grips, but he took it out before sale. Also, he said the plexiglass was from an airplane window from a shot down plane, does this sound correct???

I think plexiglass was a material that was readly available for GI's to get their hands on to replace damaged or destroyed grips. I have seen more than one Luger with plexiglass grips.

That's what I have been told also, and it seems that with pistols and bayonets, Plexiglas was the replacement material of choice. FP
