Hello, this is not my field. I have these buttons, it looks like it was made from solid silver. Made by Assmann. What do you think?

I don't think made of silver, but if real (and I Think they are) worth their weight in gold...

I think they are suspicious, but I'm not all that knowledgeable myself. The front design doesn't conform with those most accepted, from I've seen and read. I don't recall seeing this pattern until about a year or so ago and have seen this type advertised by dealers and on auctions for low prices. Someone truly knowledgeable needs to authenticate them. I would not buy one of these until such takes place.

Hello gentlemans, I'm not also expert in this field. I only can say, one friend of mine have had them over 30 years. So if they are faked, not in these days, but long time ago.

Snyders Treasures lists two of this design, both with different "Assmann" reverse markings.

There is one on "iOffer" for "Make Offer." One on eBay for $24.95, with alternate "Assmann" markings,like one of Snyder's. These almost always appear to be brand new. Those that don't, to my eye, appear to be "artificially aged." Red flags all over the place. No thanks on these!

And can you please post 100% original buttons? I would like to see any others (not from Snyders etc.). Or some period catalogue with buttons maybe?

These buttons are cast correct?

If they are, they are repros as A did not make their buttons in this fashion..

- weird, as they don't all look the same.. Some look cast..

Some appear to have the skull too proud [high above the surface]..
You got to really get in there and check if they really are 3 piece. The loop might be a separate piece,,but they made fakes like that! the outer edge is crimped over the base on originals,,you got to check that good on all of them..

Hello all, I have found these fakes on Snyder's. Look at the back, look ugly, very poor made RZM and other. Compare with them buttons of mine friend look very well made. He told me, he took them in mid 70's in Paderborn area (he was soldier in west germany) in some factory, where were big box of these buttons prepared to melting. I know him very well and I believe it is true. I'm saying only this : If these were faked it must be faked at least 35 - 40 years ago.

Some are not silver, they are nickle plated by the looks of it..

Again, I have looked for, studied and seen advertisements for SS skull buttons for many years. I haven't seen it all (who has?), but this particular style skull did not appear until the past year or so. They appear in many places, usually at low prices. Could have there been a cache of these that were somehow isolated and never issued? I suppose so, but it is unlikely that such occured. I suspect these were made recently in Eastern Europe, or, perhaps, Asia. I don't dispute what Luko says about his buttons, but the skull on these is a style not established over time as being authentic. Personally, I consider them reproductions. Others may draw their own conclusions.
