Historic aircraft, that was in the warmuseum "Bevrijdende Vleugels" (liberating wings) got wrecked on its way over to a musical scene, it was to be used as stage prop Oh my, is there a better reason to, well, not like (ahum) musicals? A plane that has been through SO much, gets wrecked for THIS? In THIS way? Read it here, here, here, here or here ... Blank, Karin-Renate

Very lamentable.
It's a very common problem with aircraft preservation museums and collections. The cost of preservation is high and they needs to atract public and financial support to continue operating. But sometimes the marketing cost is too high. The extinct Confederated Air Force lost several aircrafts in their air shows or other operations, including the last surviving B-26 Marauder in flying conditions. More recently the Imperial War Museum damaged seriously the Me 109G-2 "Black 6" in a trainning flyght for their apresentations, puting it out of flying conditions forewer.

Ricardo

A small point: The Confederate Air Force is not defunct. They changed their name to the Commemorative Air Force.
