I have had several of these over the years and this one was the best. The frog is Luftwaffe L.B.A. marked. It came in a motel buy in the St. Louis area many years ago.

Love these fighting knives. I wish Tom Wittmann could find some proof they were issued to a special Luftwaffe defense group for experimental aircraft at Hildesheim airfield....

John,
Great lineup, no wonder we can't find any decent ones out there!

Gee... what is the difference between these, or are you trying to corner the market and make a killing?
Very nice!

Well, sure, they are all different, they have unique stag slabs... Actually, I just like this style knife, very high quality polished blade. Some have a number on the blade, a few have a matching number on the scabbard. A mystery as to why they are numbered. Best guess is some were issued.

I got one out of the woodwork with a very worn brown frog and standard silver short portepee with matching wear...so, a definite maybe?? It'd be nice to find some period photos to prove it.
Paul, email me, I may be able to part with one.
Best, John
