Thought this would be interesting-What do you consider to be the rarest army dagger in your collection? I will start this off with my pack with the second maker mark I have seen only a few of these and mine is the only with the pack aluminum fittings. Please share your rare beauties.

Tom:

Not only rare in TMs, but rare in the condition that you show here.

Congratulations. You have great taste, my GDC friend.

Addyfie:

There is a picture of a triple etched WKC bayonet with dedication to an SS man, Heinz Brenner, for 'Kriegsjahr 1941' in Wayne Techet's book, German Etched Dress Bayonets. You can see it on page 76.

Could it be the same Heinz Brenner as on your Wusthof piece?

Hi John I have tried to find out a bit of background info on Heinz Brenner and have found a page on the web that had been reserched with an ss beyonet but i havent seen the pic of it, could you post a pic of it please? I have also contacted a guy on here about reserching my wusthof but he couldnt find anything from the army records. I thought it could be possible that it is the same heinz brenner when a pic popped up last year of an ss man wearing an army dagger, so i suppose it could well be the same guy but the info i have is very limited.
Thanks for the comment John any help is much appreciated

Adam:

Th picture of this bayonet is in Wayne's book and I do not feel that I have the right or the permission to scan in this page and post it here.

Maybe, if Wayne sees this, he can do it for us?

And finally my HARTKOPF which came directly from the grandson of the former wearer. This is a really rare one.
All three daggers already shown once her in the forum.

Some rare Armies being shown, thanks to all for the look. Wish we could see Denny's rare TM Army examples as well. I love those Ivory grips!

Tom, Nice Emil Voos! Is the TM etched or stamped? Looks etched.

Do we see more etched or stamped Army TM's? Thanks.

As far as I am concerned you can post all 3 daggers as many times as you like, all 3 are super pieces, your Ivory piece is simply stunning.
Thanks for all who have posted.

All lovely examples shown here but Wotan I especially like that ivory grip. I do not believe I have seen finer!
The Hartkopf is superb and I have a passion for the earliest production.

Mikee it is etched as is the norm on army daggers although you do infrequently encounter stamped maker marks. Beautiful daggers everyone Wotan I would kill for that Hartkopf

Tom,
Thanks for the reply.I've only seen one stamped Army TM. Can you recall which makers were stamped?

Wotan,
I'm with Tom. That Hartkopf, which is the only known Army from that marker, plus an early made dag in stunning condition is an amazing sight and I never tire of seeing it. The early made ones are my favorite but the dags with Ivory grip are something very special indeed. Thanks to all.

My rarest (& only) Heer, a Plümacher from the vet's daughter. This one was from the early, glory days of Eban.

Here are shown some VERY fine and rare daggers! A real pleasure for the eyes.
Thank you for your kind words concerning my daggers.

It seems that ivory grips are very desirable. Here an unmarked one of my collection.

hello gents; speaking of a list, dose anyone here have an up dated list of heer daggers (& luftwaffe daggers) makers ?
I'm positive there use to be one on this forum ,prior to me being a member. sorry , none of mine are "rare", just 5 typical Eickhorns. thanks , jeff h.

Denny Roach, an esteemed former GD member had a list that I believe has been updated from time to time. Someone here should have it, if it's not still on GD. Try a search in the Heer/Luft forum, it might come up.

JohnZ's got enough Luft2s to outfit a squadron & probably has a general list of Luft2 rarity, maybe some other members as well. I'm hoping they see this post.

I don`t really have anything I would consider particularly rare but perhaps uncommon. Here is my contribution. Initial production Eickhorn.

My rarest army dagger is an early Pack dagger with unique, dramatically hand worked 1st style WKC crossguard.
As far as I know, there are only two known examples of this kind of configuration..
