shell is good,,,liner looks like those Norwegian reworks with the dark finish on the leather and typical size stamp,,odd stripe painted down front and back,,perhaps used postwar in some civilian? function-air defense, civil defense,,certainly odd..

I agree. The liner is clearly Norwegian. Unless the exterior was stripped down to the original paint, the presence of the Heer decal is strange. It doesn't look stripped though and the interior looks like original paint. Perhaps the shell was simply relined post-war by someone....?

The cloth band looks like a Vietnam (or later) American helmet band, the flexible kind. Painted strip could be anything. Helmet looks like an original m-42 (Shell) and decal looks good to me. Liner appears to be norweign. If I had to guess I would say it is an old re-enactors helmet from the 70's with a stripe painted on it so the re-enactor could rapidly id it, and a modern elastic band added for camoflauge foliage.

Paint and decal looks ok. Liner looks like WWII Limited. Still a nice helmet.
