Hi All:

Came across this document while doing SS number research. Dated 5 November 1934, it appears to be a request from SS-Abschnitte XXX to SS-Oberabschnitte Rhein for 81 Ehrendolche. This is the latest request for Honor Daggers after the "Röhm Revolt" I have yet come across which begs the question of what would have they received?

Himmlers?

Could just be plain ol' daggers. Maybe they were referred to as "honor daggers" by the writer.

First some terminology . At the time, the Rohm inscription daggers were called Ehrendolche. The recipients got a piece of paper stating that. They were free.

In the hobby today, they are called Rohm Daggers or Rohm Inscription Daggers. We call the Damascus bladed, fancy crossguards, leather covered scabbard daggers "Honor Daggers"

What the fellow in Koblenz was requesting is open to debate. Maybe he was fishing for 81 free daggers that were still owed from the Rohm distribution starting a few months back.

Perhaps he was requesting Himmler inscription daggers but 81 seems too high a number.

I guess these are rohmdaggers,because there is written "noch"

That means "still"

but otherwise,it makes no sense.

I'd rather say "Himmlers", since "these daggers were considered Ehrendolch (awarded/dedicated daggers) by Himmler" (T.Wittman, Vol.IV)
