As suggested by another member, I’m going to start branch specific uniform threads. It seems that great uniforms are scattered across are 6,750 postings on 18 pages and to cover all branches on a single thread could be cumbersome. It is a mutual feeling that this consolidation of branch specific uniforms into one thread will perhaps provide

The Knötel uniform plate for a Gendarmerie-Skilaufer with brown accouterments and Rucksack. This is the Gend Ski tunic with the interior drawstring waist that was discussed on the forum earlier.

This is the Model 1942 Gendarmerie Feldbluse worn on active service. The simplified collar and cuffs are the same police green color as the tunic body and it has an interior first aid pocket and removable belt hooks. The breast pockets are pleated and the hip pockets are plain on this tunic. While this is the regulation police

George,
the tunic with the drawstring that was discussed earlier was in fact a Bergrock and not a Skirock.
The difference was sew-inn shoulderboards (Bergrock) versus slip-on shoulderboards (Skirock)

Machine sewn Gendarmerie collar tabs. Notice these particular tabs do not have the aluminum edge piping. Some Feldbluse collar tabs will be seen that have aluminum edge piping, some will not have edge piping, and some will have no backing with the Litzen sewn directly to the collar.

Ernst,

I believe it was the Bergrock under discussion earlier. My error. Removable shoulder boards were indeed called out in regulations for the Skirock. But, like the Gendarmerie Feldbluse above, some field blouses (also with regulations calling for removable boards) will be found with sewn in boards for some reason. This particular blouse appears to be early manufacture with a shiny brown lining instead of dull cotton and collar tabs with orange backing. It is not unexpected to find such uniforms that are not quite regulation in every detail in my experience.

George,

Very nice setup you have here

you are of course correct that personal adjustments did happen. Is there any evidence on/in the shoulder of your tunic to suggest that the owner did the sew-in adjustment himself?

If I am correct your Feldbluse is the Second model.
The first model did have the pleats in the lower pockets. I believe the pleats where abolished for economical reasons but where in fact part of the original order.

Ernst,

I did not know, or probably don't remember, the original order for the Pol Feldbluse called for pleated lower pockets. Do you know when this change occurred? I have misplaced my copy of the original order and drawing for the Feldbluse. At least I cannot find it right now.

It is entirely possible that the Gendarm had the sew-in tunic boards installed, but I can see no evidence of straps for removable boards. I have a couple of similar field blouses made with sew-in boards in this manner. After examining them, I can see no removed shoulder board loops on them either.

George

Gary, I very seldom see the woolstoff Gendarmerie field blouses but I run onto SCHUPO ones from time to time. I think there are two SCHUPO field blouses on ebay right now that are missing some insignia, so you might look at those to see if they interest you.

I am glad you put up this tunic. I will show a variation of your Meister Summer tunic that is also a Gend Meister. This fellow's Sommer-rock was made in the style of an officer tunic with french cuffs. Since a Meister can wear an officer quality cap with aluminum cords I suppose this fellow went one step further and fitted out an officer blouse with his NCO insignia. The tunic is dated 1943.

Back of tunic showing the same four panel cut with boxed tail as your tunic. The two buttons at the tail are sewn in belt supports while the front buttons are removable. The tunic does not have removable belt hooks but does have an added first aid interior pocket.
