Don't know much about these. The crank is most likely 17th century, but the crossbow with those big bolts up front. Would any of you guys date this earlier than say 1830-50?

Hi Vic,

I've seen two crossbows recently. They were in a small group of firearms. The guns were german wheel locks from about the 1650s. The crossbows
had similar construction except for the bolts you show on yours. The one's I looked at had large pins that were peened over. Not sure about a date for piece, could be a Bannerman piece.
