Indeed...a very nice example, Adam. Very lightly worn helmet by the look of it. Bill is a great guy who gets some nice stuff. I met him at last year's SOS.
Cheers,
Darryl

Thanks Darryl, do you know if maker marks such as the one I posted are comment to find in helmets, if so are there many makers? Beside the normal (3) letters maker marks stamped in helmets. Or is this type of maker mark only seen in civil helmets?

Hi in answer to Beowulf the helmet posted is 100% correct, nice to see the added feature of the dome decal, just missing the neck flap. Great piece. I agree, he is a terrific and honest guy with some very nice, reasonably priced items. cheers, Ryan S

IBeowulfI: Yes I have had many Civil Helmets, and this was was aquired by bill from a vets wife, He got everything out of stores at the end of the war. So it seen no Service but is Mint(and period made) thats why I had to buy it. But it does not have any red flag that I can see from owning many of these and I do not doubt the providents as Bill is known as a Upstanding guy.

Adam,
These helmets were all commercially produced and were not meant (nor were they issued) as combat helmets. I have seen the decal in other helmets like this. I believe it to be the distributor. Many of these shells have a "DRP Ang" - Deutsche Reich Patent Angemeldet - patent stamp embossed into the metal. The helmet is 100% correct in my opinion.
