PICKED UP THIS BAYO FROM ONE OF MY FLYERS.NEVER SAW ONE LIKE IT BEFORE.A M 1917 BAYONET MADE BY GEN CULTERY.IT IS MINT.BLACK PLASTIC HANDLE.MARKED M1917 ON ONE SIDE OF THE CROSS GUARD AND GEN CULTERY ON THE OTHER SIDE.THERE IS NO LOCKING DEVICE.U.S-1917 B.A INC.IS STAMPED ON THE SCABBARD THROAT. LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN FACTORY SHARPENED.CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT I HAVE AND IF IT RARE OR COMMON.HERE ARE SOME PICTURES

Hi Paul,

I am not sure on this one, it's newer than I am usually into, but I think this may be the bayonet for the US army VN era "trench shotgun". I think they are fairly scarce, but so is finding someone with the gun & bayonet adapter.

I know some of the other guys here will know for sure. IF not try the bayonet forum here.

THANKS RICHIE B AND MR. JERRY THAT BAYO SITE IS GREAT.I AM SUPRISED THAT BAYO WAS USED IN VIETNAM.I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THEY HAD TO BE SHORTER BECAUSE OF THE RULES IN THE GENEVE CNNVENTION SPECIFING LENGTH OF BAYOS.AGAIN THANKS FOR THE INFO.PAUL

Geneve Convention huh the trench gun was nothing more than a 12 gauge pump action shot gun if it the same as used in WWI
