This was on eBay but was pulled. I must have asked the Seller for pictures just before it happened. He's now offering it to me if I can give him a good offer.
2 questions...
1) Is it real or a fantasy piece? 2) What is a fair price for an original and for a repro?
Many thanks in advance

I am not fond of that but also not an expert. What is a good offer?

I dont know, this one is supposed to be correct but they look cheap to me. I am going to crash, but its up to you really and the quality is not terrific so I would not kill myself to get it. Maybe 100.00 or so.
Nite,
Kris

Thanks very much Kris. I've had a look on the net and maybe $100.00 is too low? Some of the wrist watches go for ridiculous prices.
You think the one in question is real then? Just not the best?

Yes, It could be low I suppose but I am not sure about them and seeing more lately, so if you want it spend what you feel it is worth to you.
The watches can sell very high, but like many things you come to realize why once you have it in hand, the Luft watches are a popular item and when you see one its really neat, but also of superior quality.
Best,
Kris

Thanks for your in put Kris. I had another GDC member email to advise that the pocket watch in question is a fake. I also haven't heard back from the Seller either. Cheers, Scott

I wondered why there is a DRL eagle on a sub watch.

The U Boat watch is a reproduction that is currently making the rounds. I have seen one example at a Toronto area antiques market and there is currently one for sale on commission at Military Antiques in Maple, north of Toronto. I would suspect that the remainder are fake as well. I can say with certainty that the sub watch is. cheers, Ryan
