How many variations do you know of for the common HJ maker Arthur Schuttelhoffer? I have tried asking questions about uncommon and rare makers with hardly any participation so lets try a common one. 1. Crossed hobby horses with Asso Solingen motto no ricasso 2. A.Schuttelhoffer with crossed hobby horses motto no ricasso 3. A. Schuttelhoffer & Co. Solingen Wald- no horses motto ricasso 4. Arthur Schuttelhoffer Solingen Wald motto no ricasso 5. Asso m7/13 ricasso no motto 6. A Schuttlehoffer & Co. m7/13 ricasso no motto 7. M7/13 ricasso They also made an RZM only with motto which has a ricasso. Has anyone seen or do you have an HJ marked only Asso with the crossed hobby horses without the word Solingen? Have heard of one but I do not have one nor have I seen it personally.Does anyone have a dated piece? I can find nothing in my notes about ever seeing a dated Schuttelhoffer piece. Does anyone know why they used both the Asso and A. Schuttelhoffer trademarks? I think this is the most common maker of HJs in RZM form. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts and what knives you have or have seen. What other knives would you like to know about? I don't have all the answers but together maybe we can learn something. Thanks Russ

Wow Russ, I'm going to have to start taking notes on these. I had no idea there were so many variations. I only have one in my collection, so here are the pictures. Wish I had on ASSO with motto though. Thanks, John

Front and paper tag around leather. I agree, I think these are the most common unissued ones, though the bag is a little tougher.

Mine are: - A. Schuttelhoffer & Co. Wald-Solingen, hobby horses, motto, no ricasso (not exactly in Russ's list?) -> see picture - RZM M7/13 magnetic pommel - RZM M7/13 non-magnetic pommel - RZM M7/13 non-magnetic pommel & plastic strap.
Greetings,
Herman
