Here are a few police eagles that I picked up at the SOS. Most of these were out of one collection that was being sold off.

Doug,
Nice birds I guess I should get off my butt and hit the SOS next time.... Now back on track the bird that says " Munchen" is that a red eagle on black background ??? The traffic eagles are real nice... If I remenber I believe ORPO posted some fire police officers awhile ago.

Yes, the 'Munchen' eagle is red on black.

As for the fire police officers, I have seen other examples like mine - but never a used one or one actually on a tunic. Would like to see if anyone has an example on a tunic.

I think the bevo grey eagle on black in the center is a tough one to find as well.

Hello,

As an "eagle weenie" I envy your find. VERY nice group. Any chance to see a closeup of the Feuerschutzpolizei? (carmine on green).

The two traffic eagles are very cool. Hard to find. If you ever sell I would be most interested in the "HAMELN". I've never seen a traffic eagle in that pattern.

The red on black is not uncommon. I have Feuerwehr eagles that are done in red and in red carmine, as well as the "normal" crmine thread. Seems the makers used the thread they had on hand.

The Feuerwehr officer's eagles were indeed used but to be honest I don't know anyone that actually has an officer's tunic. I have seen photos on the forum but I don't recall where.

Congratulations!
Regards,
Bill Unland

Thanks George! And, thanks for all of your help and advice at the show. In the end, I'm very glad that I picked up the Gemeinden officer's tunic. I'm not sure when I will see one again.

Very nice! Was there anything left in the collection being sold out after you bought all those?
