A couple of weeks ago we were discussing some fonts on a Pioneer. Here's one I have some pictures of. This is open for discussion. I'm not looking to defend this piece's authenticity, just to present something that a collector may run into. The seller didn't trust it, I had the same feeling. The price was right, and it's always good to have many examples to look at. Any and all opinions welcome.

Also dated blade 1934. Which also corresponeds with an early Lütters TM with an early magnetic hilt.

Oops. I wasn't too clear on my post. What I meant was the Postal one that we discussed. I had Pioneer on the brain, trying to post while drinking beer, and I always thought that I was good at multi-tasking.  Steve.

Tough to say about the fonts & stampings, looks like a lot of double strikes but I know that isn't dispositive one way or the other. I will say I know that that particular Lutters maker mark is rarely seen well done Steve

Yes rarely seen. Yours takes first prize on an FW. That's tough to find. Thanks for sharing the pic. Mine is a tough call. Hopefully some others that are familiar with fonts and correct format can help us out a bit. I'm curious. I've had it for a number of years.

the marking on the blade is very unusal...
2. kompagnie, 4. preußische Pionierbatallion
the marking on the angle is very grude made... and do not match.
it musst be selfmade. it is no service bajonett. the stamping also is made wrong...
in the german imperial army the batallion stands in the first... then the kompagnie.
correct: 4. pionierbataillion, 2 kompagnie
the kompangie in the first cames in the reicheswehr... 1921 - 1934.
so it can be found the mark of 1934.
the the prussion 4. pinonierbattailion don´t exist until 1934... it was demobilized in 1918/1919.
